Bethesda K9 Bed Bug Inspections
Bed bugs are being detected in homes, multi-family dwellings , assisted living facilities, libraries, hotels, college dorms and retail stores. This resurgence has been attributed to a ban on certain pesticides, the increased ease of international travel as well as a more transient way of life.
One of the most time effective and economical tools in the bed bug fighting arsenal is the use of trained, certified canine detection teams. Scent detection dogs have been used for years to locate bombs, drugs and even cancer and they are now being deployed to sniff out bed bugs.
A dog’s sense of smell is over 10,000 times keener than that of a human. Imagine walking into a bakery and you smell the bread baking. A dog walks into the bakery and smells the individual ingredients: flour, yeast, salt. This amazing sense of smell allows a trained dog to detect bed bugs with a much higher degree of accuracy and in a much shorter amount of time than a human inspector could ever hope for.
Because a canine team is much more likely to detect a bed bug than a visual only inspection, you can eradicate the problem early, before it spreads throughout your home or property.
